My vision for creating Inward Bound Therapy was based on my experiences many years ago when I worked as an instructor for the North Carolina Outward Bound School. I had the privilege of leading courses through the wilderness to help people step out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves. The Outward Bound journey taught powerful lessons of resilience, self-awareness, self-regulation, problem-solving, and compassion for self and others.
As a therapist, I strive to empower people to explore their inner worlds by co-creating a space that fosters authenticity, vulnerability, and unconditional acceptance. My goal is to collaborate with clients to gain insight into their internal narratives and identify patterns that influence behavior. The process of going inward bound leads to self-discovery and emotional processing that will bring relief and empowerment. It takes tremendous courage to turn the spotlight inward and embrace all our complex, messy parts.
I am dedicated to making the inward bound journey a beautiful, powerful, and productive experience. I have the utmost respect for the people who choose to engage in the therapeutic process. It takes courage to explore one’s thoughts and feelings, and you have my deep commitment to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for that exploration.
